What are bell bearings?

Bell Bearings are key items obtained in various ways in Elden Ring. Each has a specific name and rank, and they have a very specific purpose.
After obtaining a Bell Storage, you can give it to the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold to unlock certain items for sale, with rewards dependent on the Bell Storage given.

Kill NPCs or loot their corpses
When you kill certain NPCs, whether they attack you in the wild, let you indulge your curiosity, or they die in the course of their quest, they often drop Bell Bearings.
If the NPC was also a trader, anything he would have sold will appear in Twin Maiden Husk's shop, meaning you won't lose access to unique spells etc.

Killing bosses, especially in forging-focused areas (like the crystal tunnel minidungeons in various areas), will reward you with bell camps. These bell camps usually allow you to buy unlimited amounts of the Forgestones available in these tunnels, but some unlock other things.
found in the world
Several excellent bell bearings can be found on corpses in The Lands Between. If you see something shiny, be sure to pick it up!

The Bell Storages below allow you to purchase different types of materials - some of which are used to craft various items, and while these are basic materials, they can be purchased in bulk to ensure you never run out of items to craft .

These Bell Camps can only be obtained by defeating powerful Bell Camp Hunters that spawn in various regions throughout the Lands Between, always at night instead of a merchant.

The following Bell Bearings allow you to purchase two types of enhancement materials - Forgestones and Sinister Forgestones - which are used to increase the damage output and scaling of your primary weapons. You can also unlock different types of stones.
These bell camps are often found by defeating the powerful bosses of various mini-dungeons.

The following Bell Storages allow you to purchase two types of buffing materials - Spirit's Cloveweed and Grave's Cloveweed - which are used to increase the damage output and overall strength of your Spirit Ash summoning by using Roderika in the Round Table.
These bell camps are often found by scavengers hidden around the land.
